| DaMarcus Beasley is back from the dead |

Falling out of favor with both club and country, DaMarcus Beasley has been all but forgotten in the last few months by Rangers supporters and U.S. national team fans alike. Injuries and time playing left back for the first time in his life certainly didn't help his cause along the way and it's only been since he recently started speaking out to the press about his desire to play, whether with Rangers or anywhere else, that he's finally gotten back on the pitch. And on Tuesday, in his third straight start in a week, he scored his first goal -- and what a goal it was -- for the club since May of 2008 before setting up another on the way to a 3-0 win over Dundee United that put Rangers top of the table. A goal and three assists over a four game span that includes his first two league starts (near the end of 2009, mind you) will hardly seal Beasley spot on Bob Bradley's World Cup squad, but it's quite the start on his sprint to reach that goal. I'm sure Bradley would be happy to receive him, too, because a fit and in-form DaMarcus Beasley could definitely help solidify the team's wing play or, at the very least, the depth on the bench. But, yeah, that's not a bad way to score your first club goal in a year and a half. Posted originally: 12/16/2009 |
